Thinking of spring

House repairs and remodeling nearing completion. Been dreaming of planting flowers but not until the exterior is painted. Getting late to plant the seeds I ordered but perhaps I can fool them with temporary shade. I was planning an all white flower bed in front, alyssium, baby's breath (which I've never grown), poppies, daisies, other easy tall flowers. This buttercup made me want a potful of them in the backyard where I'll have some color.

My grandmother and stepmother grew large orchids. I would have to create a sheltered setting to protect them from the sun and cold. A good excuse to sketch when they finally bloom.

Extra Button

The handy "extra button" that comes with some outfits. Thinking how handy it would be to have a packet that says "Extra Man". For those moments one has misplaced a man.

Yellow Faces

4th of July fireworks near Ocean Blvd are visible above the buildings. The city has outlawed fireworks so this is a pleasant quiet evening of no barking dogs.

No yellow submarine, but a yellow octopus. Drew faces of M on yellow post it notes. Practicing the art of faces.

Brush pen in 3 x 4.5 pseudo moleskine.

3 Leaf Clover

I've been spending more time looking at other artist sketch blogs than drawing, a world full of artists' wonderful imagination and fantastic talent. The sketch journals that they carry with them are my favorites, almost like looking over their shoulder. Thank you everyone for sharing.

All I have is a humble pot of clover that planted itself. The mosaic pot belonged to Michelle, who's been working in Dubai, by way of Wales, Long Beach and 200 other cities. a traveler of the world. Wherever you are today, Michelle, here's some clover. I checked, not a single 4 leaf in the bunch.

Lady Elgin

Watching the watches.
I try to resist the urge to accumulate. If my mother had her way she would still have everything she's ever owned. In the process of life, she handed me watches that belonged to my father and her from their dating years. Thought I'd share the collection of watches, one at a time.
