House repairs and remodeling nearing completion. Been dreaming of planting flowers but not until the exterior is painted. Getting late to plant the seeds I ordered but perhaps I can fool them with temporary shade. I was planning an all white flower bed in front, alyssium, baby's breath (which I've never grown), poppies, daisies, other easy tall flowers. This buttercup made me want a potful of them in the backyard where I'll have some color.

My grandmother and stepmother grew large orchids. I would have to create a sheltered setting to protect them from the sun and cold. A good excuse to sketch when they finally bloom.
