Mt Fuji View 11

11th of Hokusai's 24 views of Fujiyama at Mishima-goe. Starting to feel refreshed with optimism that I can complete this journey, now that I am near the midpoint.

Rendered with blue ball point pen and sumi ink. 3 1/2 x 5 inch pocketbook moleskine.

You can complete this journey, aiko. They are priceless. I have begun the first of his eight waterfall woodblock prints. I will post it when I have finished it. (It takes me awhile.) I thank you for the idea/inspiration. I have never copied a great artist's work before. It is awe-inspiring. All my best, Kim

Thank you so much for enjoying these sketches. Some of the prints have so many elements, the pencil layout took longer than the actual painting. When I looked at the print upsidedown, I realized why I kept adjusting positions and angles so much. Most of it was following the angle of the mountain and most things were pointing towards Fuji. I have not studied the waterfall prints so I don't know if there is a geometric pattern going on. I look forward to your waterfall sketches. Hokusai is a good teacher. Aiko

Margaret, thanks for stopping by. Your art is always a feast for the eyes.

Sandy, thanks for visiting. I like your spoon art. Tried to leave a comment but could not open it. Did you create that double handled spoon in photoshop or is it real?
